“We wanted to do something that showed not only everyone else, but also ourselves, what we could really do,” says executive producer MrArchangel Adam. “We’re proud of everything we’ve made, but this was a step above.”

Adam says the team bounced ideas around with writer Wes Matthews before landing on the concept that would become “The Barcelona Job.”

“We narrowed it down to two scripts, then ultimately landed on this one,” Adam explains. “Wes really developed the story after we gave him the general concept and actors. We gave some guidance, but he had a lot of creative freedom.”

Peter the Thief, Actor and Scene Stealer

Sir Peter stars as the cunning lead, turning in a performance marked by his signature gravitas.

“I’ve been acting since I was 12,” he shares. “I started with community theater in Portugal. Acting lets me be someone else — it’s a part of me that I’ve always carried.”

When co-star, executive producer and VoyR founder Shabazz invited him onboard, Sir Peter didn’t even need to hear the pitch.

“Every time he calls me, I just say yes,” Sir Peter laughs. “But when I heard Alter Sin was directing and saw the script, I was even more excited. I want to give a Hollywood vibe to the genre, and this was my shot.”

He immersed himself in the role, pulling inspiration from — you guessed it — George Clooney in “Ocean’s Eleven.”

“I wanted that seductive calmness,” he says. “That charm, that confidence. I didn’t want it to just be Sir Peter on camera. There’s this scene where I’m having sex and I see this Fabergé-style egg. And I’m like, ‘My character would absolutely steal that.’ So I asked Alter, and he said, ‘Take it!’ So I did. I wanted people to forget who I was and just follow the character.”

First-Time Feats and Full Commitment

Even though the five-day shoot was Sir Peter’s longest ever, he stayed in character from start to finish.

“By day five, I was exhausted, but I didn’t break,” he says. “I wanted the audience to believe in the story, even during the sex scenes. I wanted them to feel like the character was still there, still stealing.”

That commitment pays off in the film’s final sequence.

“The last scene, where we run out of the museum, felt like a real movie,” he says. “Like something’s about to catch you. There’s suspense, action — and then of course, sex.”

It’s also a milestone moment for Shabazz, who makes his scripted acting debut in “The Barcelona Job.”

“It was his first time, and I was so proud of him,” Sir Peter shares. “At first he was nervous, but by the end, he was completely in it. He challenged himself, and it showed.”

Shabazz reflects on the experience with similar admiration.

“The whole experience was a dream,” he marvels. “Being able to try something new with the people that I’ve developed such a bond with and respect for was more than I could ask for. I’ve always looked at Sir Peter like a brother, and he definitely played big brother while working on this project, with all the advice and support that he offered.”

Next-Level Passion Behind and in Front of the Camera

According to Adam, this collaboration has been years in the making.

“We’d been talking about doing a full feature for a while,” he says. “We ultimately picked this one because it gave us space to show off everything we could do.”

That decision set the tone for a deeply involved production process.

“I was on set the whole time,” Adam explains. “Most of the performers are Brazilian and speak Portuguese, so I helped them run lines and fine-tune delivery. It’s not just about translation — it’s about emotion, nuance, tone. A lot of them were acting for the first time, and they really crushed it.”

He credits the creative team for the collaborative energy on set.

“Being able to work on something I’m so passionate about, along with Alternativa and Alter Sin, was incredible,” Adam says. “Having Rhyheim come in and offer direction and options really made it a huge collaborative effort — it helped us make something amazing for everybody to watch.”

Shabazz seconds that description.

“Seeing Alter Sin and Alternativa work together was great,” he affirms. “I think the time spent in Barcelona filming only strengthened the strong bond we already had as a team.”

All that teamwork and dedication seems to have paid off. From the glittering heist setup to the last twisty scene, “The Barcelona Job” keeps viewers guessing — and blushing.
